Pleasure Craft Operator Card Course

FOCA (the Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations) sent us the following announcement:

April 5, 9am to 4:30pm - FOCA and the Canadian Power Squadron team up for a “Pleasure Craft Operator Card Course”, Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club, Toronto.  All boaters please note: The Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations require operators of pleasure craft to have proof of competency on board at all times. This proof of competency is required for ALL operators by September 15, 2009. This seminar will prepare you for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) exam which is administered at the end of the training session.  Contact or 705-749-3622 for more information and to register.  Visit the FOCA website for more background on the basics of boating safety, and the Power Squadron`s Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate.           $75, includes lunch.

Of course, the LWRA offers the same service at somewhat reduced cost ($25 each for members and their families, $40 each for non-members). But we only supply snacks -- you have to bring your own lunch. See our classified ad for registration details.
